Memel Energy (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you visit our website, apply for a position, submit your CV, or contact us — and what rights you have regarding that data.

1. What Data We Collect

Depending on which form you use, we may collect:

  • Name, email address, phone number
  • Your CV/resume file
  • Information you provide in form fields (e.g. professional spectrum, sector, cover message)
  • For company/client inquiries: company name, contact person, what assistance you’re requesting
  • Standard technical data (IP address, browser type) collected automatically by our website

2. Why We Collect It (Purpose)

We process this data to:

  • Evaluate your application against open positions
  • Contact you regarding job opportunities, whether current or future
  • Maintain a candidate pool for roles that match your background
  • Respond to business inquiries from prospective clients
  • Improve and secure our website

3. Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the following service providers, strictly to operate our recruitment process:

Our applicant tracking system (ATS) — stores your candidate record, CV, and application history, acting as our data processor under its own Data Processing Agreement.

An AI tool — when you submit a CV, it extracts structured information from it (such as work history, certifications, and relevant experience) to help our recruiters review applications more efficiently. This is a supporting tool for our recruiters, not an automated decision-maker — every hiring decision is made by a human. Data sent to this tool is processed under its provider’s data processing terms, which include Standard Contractual Clauses covering transfers outside the European Economic Area where applicable.

We do not use any other third-party service to process your CV or personal data beyond what is listed above.

4. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, we rely on appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses, to ensure your data receives an equivalent level of protection.

5. How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain your candidate data for 24 months from your last application or contact, after which it is deleted unless you re-apply or otherwise engage with us. You can request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 6).

6. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@memelenergy.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Lithuanian State Data Protection Inspectorate (Valstybinė duomenų apsaugos inspekcija, VDAI) or your local supervisory authority.

7. Automated Processing

As described in Section 3, we use an AI-assisted tool to help extract information from CVs and, where you apply to a specific vacancy, to generate an internal relevance score comparing your CV to that role’s requirements. This score is advisory only and is used by our recruiters to help prioritize their review — it does not result in automatic rejection or acceptance of your application, and every application is reviewed by a person.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

9. Children

Our services are not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
